Portfolio
These photos were shot while exploring mountain roads in Quebec on a hot day, just after the rain showers passed. Edit is inspired by Kodak Portra 400 film.
I’ve posted photos from this location before, but it’s nice to revisit and try to refine.
We’ve had a pile of rain lately so there’s a lot of water moving through which makes for some nice long exposures.
Had mere moments here before the fog rolled in, but managed to get a couple of my favorite photos of the lighthouse here yet.
It had been awhile since I’d made a dedicated trip out for some golden hour photography, and sunrise is still reasonably late so I managed to drag myself out of bed at 6am to head a few minutes away from home. Forecast was for a mix of sun and cloud, about as good as you could hope for so I figured it was worth the gamble. I was hoping for sun coming in under the cloud cover, but things ended up a little reversed. With a little patience though things got a little bit interesting and managed to get a few shots I liked.
Most of these taken with my new FujiFilm XF 23mm f/2 which I’m enjoying the bump in sharpness, and the focal length which matches a lot of my favorite shots.
I didn’t think much of it at the time, but the next day I was quite happy with the composition of the shot of the rocks at the point of Cape Forchu. This could be epic with a sunset redo and I might have to make the effort to get down there for it some morning when I’m in the area.
