Moirs Mill In Spring

I’ve posted photos from this location before, but it’s nice to revisit and try to refine. We’ve had a pile of rain lately so there’s a lot of water moving through which makes for some nice long exposures.

Cape Forchu Lighthouse At Sunset

Had mere moments here before the fog rolled in, but managed to get a couple of my favorite photos of the lighthouse here yet.

Sunrise on the Bedford Waterfront

It had been awhile since I’d made a dedicated trip out for some golden hour photography, and sunrise is still reasonably late so I managed to drag myself out of bed at 6am to head a few minutes away from home. Scenes from Cape Forchu

Most of these taken with my new FujiFilm XF 23mm f/2 which I’m enjoying the bump in sharpness, and the focal length which matches a lot of my favorite shots. It wasn’t particularly cold but was blowing so hard the windchill became a pretty major factor. Ended up being too cold to think straight and I had a hard time focusing. None the less, found a few images I liked especially once the sun was down and we got into blue hour....

Peggy's Boats

A couple shots from a February walk around Peggy’s Cove. The boats photo credit goes to my wife who spotted the repeating colors in groups of three. Color mostly provided by Fujifilm Classic Negative.

Bedford Basin at -40 Degrees

We had a very brief 24 hour cold snap this February, beyond anything in recent memory. I decided to see if I could brave the conditions and capture how things look at sunrise when it’s -40. These were shot very quickly, and without being able to fully see as my eyes were constantly watering, and ice was building up on my glasses and camera display. The sun didn’t cooperate either but I still really loved the result....
