Hiking the L’Éperon Mountain

Hiking up a mountain in high heat and humidity without sufficient fitness levels was perhaps not the best decision ever made. It was however worth the effort. This trail was in Jacques Cartier National Park, Quebec, a stunning park centered around a meandering road through a mountain valley. I wish I could have gotten back for more photography but that will have to be on another trip. Near the end of the hike we stumbled onto an adorable family of Canada Geese....

Wild Spaces After Work

We’re fortunate enough to have a massive nature preserve just minutes from our house. The hiking can be rugged but it’s also possibly on the list to become a National Park. Out for a short hike after work, I found this rather lovely cascade a little downstream from where the trail crosses.

Birches of Savaray Park

Haven’t been to this park since I was a kid, but while on the run from wildfires this sprint we were driving different routes and ended up stopping back here for a few moments on a very blustery day. Truly one of Nova Scotia’s most impressive Provincial Parks.
